En 1989 Skid Row saca a la venta su disco homónimo y recibe buena aceptación por parte del público metalero de la época. Éxitos como "18 and Life" y "Youth Gone Wild" inmediatamente se posicionan como himnos entre los jóvenes. Dos años más tarde aparece Slave to the Grind, un disco mucho más rápido y agresivo que el anterior con lo que ganaron aún más seguidores. Aunque hoy esta agrupación sigue junta (en 2009 vinieron a México), la salida de Sebastian Bach, vocalista del grupo de 1986 a 1997, es de peso, pues aunque él no es Skid Row, Skid Row tiene mucha más personalidad con él en el escenario. Pienso que es una de las mejores voces del rock. Nada más escuchen esta rola, lo bien cantada que está y los tonos que alcanza.
